Additional notes regarding the technical specifiaction of Suzuki GSX 1400:
- Fuel consumption (fuel economy) measured in L/100km or MPG (miles per gallon) shows how many liters of fuel the motorcycle burns for a 100km rum and respectively how many miles it can run with one gallon of fuel. In the average case Suzuki GSX 1400 will burn 6.50 liters on every 100km of your trip. That is based on the technical specifications of the motorcycle and may vary depending on several factors as style of riding, temperature, road condition etc. As per the MPG number it will run for 36.2 miles while burning one gallon of fuel. If we know that Suzuki GSX 1400 has a fuel tank capacity of 22.0 liters and its fuel economy is 36.2mpg (based on the technical specifications data above) then we can calculate the run it can achieve with a topped up tank and it is 210 miles.
- Engine displacement of 1402 cc - this refers to the volume described by the movement of a single piston in the cylinder multiplied by the number of the cylinders the engine has. In the common case bigger displacement of the engine means more horse power and more fuel consumption. The engine displacement is measured in cubic centimeters (cc) or liters (l) and for Suzuki GSX 1400 it is 1402 cc as per the specifications above.
- 130 mm ground clearance is the shortest distance measured from the ground to the chassis of GSX 1400. The lower the ground clearance the better the handling but on the contrary higher clearance makes the bike more practical on uneven roads and off-road.Suzuki GSX 1400 bore and stroke diagram
- 81x68 bore and stroke - bore is indeed the size of the piston presented by its diameter and stroke is the depth of the piston measured from top to bottom. The stroke value actually represents the distance that the piston undergo in one stroke. Based on the technical specifications above Suzuki GSX 1400 has a bore with diameter of 81 mm and the length of the stroke is 68 mm. For this particular Suzuki engine bore is bigger than stroke meaning that GSX 1400 has a short stroke engine.
- Compression ratio 9.5:1. Imagine an engine's piston is at the bottom of its stroke (step one) and moves up compressing the gas in the cylinder till it reaches its top position of the stroke (step 2). The compression ratio is the ration of the volume in step one over the volume in step two. This is actually the relation between the biggest and the smallest capacity of the combustion chamber. Higher compression ratio means bigger pressure of the fuel/air mix in the combustion chamber and better efficiency achieved of its ignition.
- Chain final drive: It's hard to tell whether the chain or the shaft or the belt drive is the best way to drive power from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle as they all do what they are meant to do and have their own advantages. All three variations of final drive have been used for a very long time and each of them has proved to be successful one. The final drive of Suzuki GSX 1400 is chain.
chain final driveIt is a fact that the majority of motorcycles around the world are driven by chains. Chains are simple and efficient way to transmit horsepower from the engine to the rear wheel. Many bikers may complain of the need of constant care though. Since the chain is exposed to dust, sun and rain it needs to be periodically cleaned and properly lubricated.
- Air cooling: the constant cooling of the motorcycle engine is mandatory for its efficiency and durability. Some of the main advantages if the air cooled motorcycles are their simplicity and reliability due to the fact that they have less parts that could eventually break down.Turn signals of Suzuki GSX 1400
- If the Suzuki GSX 1400 turn signals need to be replaced you do not need to look around for a professional to fix that problem. Generally the motorcycle turn signals wires are color coded and disconnecting them is not a problem. In the case of box connection all you have to do is clip off both ends (the male and female). Connect the wires properly after the new Suzuki GSX 1400 turn signals are placed in position.UV and dust protection cover for Suzuki GSX 1400
The dimensions of the Suzuki GSX 1400 are important when choosing a motorcycle cover. Please keep in mind that any additional aftermarket accessories can increase the dimensions of the bike. In case the motorcycle has saddle bags or windshield then it will most likely need a larger protective cover.
