Additional notes regarding the technical specifiaction of Hyosung GT125R:
- The fuel economy (fuel consumption) shows either how much fuel the motorcycle is consuming per 100 kilometers or haw many miles you can ride it with a single gallon of fuel. The fuel efficiency of Hyosung GT125R based on its technical specifications will let it run for 90.5 miles burning one gallon of fuel. It also means that it will burn 2.60 liters on a 100km trip. So if Hyosung GT125R has a tank full of 4.5 gallons of fuel it can be ridden for 405 miles till we run out of gas. Of course we better make sure we top it up again before that happens.
- 124 cc engine displacement - that is the volume enclosed by the movement of the pistons from their lower to their upper position in the cylinders. In the common case bigger displacement of the engine means more horse power and more fuel consumption. The Hyosung GT125R engine has a displacement volume of 124 cc according to the specifications above and is specified in cubic centimeters but can also be measured in liters.
- 130 mm ground clearance - this is the space between the ground and the lowest part of the chassis of GT125R measured in millimeters or inches. Lower ground clearance means better handling while higher clearance equals more practicality.Hyosung GT125R bore and stroke diagram
- Bore and stroke 44x41 - these parameters may be presented as bore/stroke ratio in some technical specifications. This ratio refers to the diameter of the cylinder bore divided by the length of the piston stroke. According to the technical specifications of Hyosung GT125R its bore is 44 mm and the stroke is 41 mm. Because the length of the stroke for this Hyosung engine is smaller than the diameter of the cylinder (bore) we say that GT125R has a short stroke engine.
- Compression ratio 11.3:1 - this parameter refers to how the cylinder's space changes from when the piston is down at its lowest point to when the piston is up at its highest point in the stroke. This is actually the relation between the biggest and the smallest capacity of the combustion chamber. With internal combustion engines the higher compression ratio allows higher efficiency because the combustion temperature is reached with less fuel.
- Chain final drive: It's hard to tell whether the chain or the shaft or the belt drive is the best way to drive power from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle as they all do what they are meant to do and have their own advantages. Manufacturers have used all of them over the year and each one has turned out to be a workable technology. The final drive of Hyosung GT125R is chain.
chain driven motorcycleChain drives are by far the most popular final drive technology in the history of motorcycles and are the most economical way to drive power from the engine to the rear wheel. However chains have their down points - more frequent need of maintenance (lubrication and cleaning) which means that a biker should always keep an eye on the chain especially in rainy days or dusty roads.
- Air cooling system: both air and liquid cooling systems serve the same purpose to keep the engine in an optimal temperature range and they both have their advantages. Air cooling is generally used in twin-cylinder engines with lower horsepower usually found in cruisers and dirt bikes.Turn signals replacement of Hyosung GT125R
- If you decided to fix the turn signals of your Hyosung GT125R yourself there is nothing to worry about as that is indeed an easy DIY task. When disconnecting the wires of your motorcycle turn signals it is advisable to stick distinct tapes on them if they are not color coded. After locating the bolts that hold them in position you will have to remove them. After the new Hyosung GT125R turn signals are placed on make sure they are connected to the right slots as previously marked.Bike cover for Hyosung GT125R
The motorcycle cover protects the bike from the elements and the dimensions of the Hyosung GT125R are important when choosing one. Some aftermarket accessories can change the overall dimensions of the bike. In case the motorcycle has saddle bags or windshield then it will most likely need a larger protective cover.
