The bigger engine size of Ducati 899 Panigale in comparison to Kawasaki Ninja 250R doesn't mean that it is more powerful or better performing bike. The second bike has the advantage of greater compression ratio of 12.5:1 than the other one. This represents the biggest volume of the cylinder when the piston is located at the lowest point of the stroke compared to the minimum volume of the cylinder when the piston is at the highest point of the stroke.
